We started raising chickens a year ago starting with 15 brown hybrids. We just recently added 5 buff orpingtons and 4 araucanas. Our 7 yr-old son and 11 mn-old daughter both love chickens. And our eggs are better than anything store bought. We also converted our 600 sqft dead brown lawn into a vegetable garden with compost. The chickens love it. We've sold off 2/3 of our original browns to friends who have been greatly encouraged and one went so far as to add 20 chicks to their flock with plans to sell eggs locally. Overall we continue to enjoy our chickens greatly.
