About Me:

My name is Gary Ortiz. I grew up in albuquerque's south valley and it is still my home. I've had chickens off and on for the past 15 years. My latest began two winters ago when a ferrel rooster showed up at my doorstep. I fed it best I could but didn't have any chicken shelter at the time. It's death from exposure made me want to build a structure for chickens again, except I wanted to make this one portable. When spring came I did just that. The initial prototype was too large and heavy for practical moving. I finally settled on my present design. My wife and I show it when we can and sell them as well. My business is called "The Green Egg". We've grown to deeply care for our chickens. My wife refuses to eat chicken anymore because of it. I'm not quite there yet, but I understand how she feels.
