Nosey neighbor that makes a rooster crow

We have a neighbor that used to make our rooster crow in the middle of the night then call animal control and complain the next day. Until he discovered that he had built his property up to the point  our 6 ft stockade fence was only 5 feet on his side and he could see over to be nosey about our poultry he didn't know we had 2 roosters, the times when they were crowing he was either sleeping or at work, as soon as he saw we had roosters he put up a spot light on the back of his house and when he would come home at night (1:30 or 2 am) he would turn on the light and had it pointed right at our coop so naturally the roosters would start crowing when the coop woould light up. We he first started complaining to animal control we couldn't figure out what was going on and why he was complaining that the roosters were keeping him awake, they were closed in at night and usually the only way they could be heard crowing was if you happened to be outside when they crowed and his bedroom is on the second floor on the far side of his house away from the coop. Well one morning I happened to be outside getting pants & a top off the clothesline to get ready for work (I work the middle of the night shift) when he turned on his spot light and came outside and saw that he had the light pointed right in our backyard shining on the coop, the next day the animal control officer happened to be off so a patrol officer responded to his complaint, I told him what had happened and he went right back nextdoor and walked out around the back of his house & checked out the spot light, when the neighbor came out to find out what the officer was doing he was informed if he didn't want the roosters crowing in the middle of the night to stay in his house and leave the light off and if they received any more complaints about the roosters crowing in the middle of the night he would be getting a nuasance summons for making them crow so he would have something to complain about.

Since our dealings with this neighbor and the animal control officer the town finally got rid of that AC officer and got a new one that knows what he's dealing with, the first ACO wasn't capable of dealing with poultry complaints he didn't know the difference between a turkey & a rooster or that hens & chickens are one & the same. That ACO didn't like me at all when I got done "educating" him on poultry and what's what and the new ACO doesn't like the neighbor and has told him in no uncertain terms that he's not going to put up with his complaining It was getting to the point it was bordering on harrassment.

Well, it seems to me people abuse their right to complain. People complain too often on their neighbours. It seems to me people have forgotten how it is to live together and solve their conflicts by themselves. Well, not long ago I watched a film Pay It Back (it can be easily found at rapidshare SE http://rapidpedia.com ). The little boy managed to improve a lot in this world. Let's follow his example and be better towards others.

My neighbors are a duo. Love her; hate him. She’s friendly and well-mannered. He’s pesty, obnowious, rude etc. The worst part is that he badgers me trying to keep a conversation going as well as he makes unwelcome sexual comments. I finally tried a drastic approach. I consistently kept my own standards by being cordial enough to greet him on the street or if we were both out in our yard or on the porch. I continued to ignore his requests that he come over or have a drink if I was enjoying one. Then I’d blast him with communication that was harsh, sharp and high in volume! Oh, and to the point that further interaction was most unwelcome. Everything has been fine now for months and months. We are all on civil terms; he’s no longer pesty.
