I've been adopted by a rooster
A few weeks ago, a rooster showed up in the little park across the street from my house. He has since made a home for himself in the plantings around the front of the house. I've been leaving out water and putting out a little cracked corn earch morning, and he seems happy with the arrangement, but If I go on vacation, there will be no one to feed or water him, and the neighborhood has dogs, cats, coyotes and a very large hawk. I would like to find him a good home. My dogs would object, probably to the rooster's detriment, if I tried to move him into the back yard.
Would anyone like a rather tame (walks up to within a couple feet of you) handsome (gold above, dark below, purple highlights in the tail) rooster? He even crows (poorly).
I'm in the SE part of Albuquerque, south of Gibson and East of San Pedro near the base.
