I went to the town clerk who sent me down the hall to the board of health. I can have up to 14 chickens with no permit required, more than that it's $40.00 to get the permit. For a conservative suburban town, that's a pretty relaxed attitude. I would have fought it anyway, and just got my birds and let the chips fall. I say fight for your right to raise food for your family and stop cruel treatment to factory raised chickens. Viva les chickens!
