Hello From Lexington, Kentucky

Once farming or the love of farming is in your blood it cannot be removed:)

Raised on a Dairy Farm and worked in Dairy Production in Pennsylvania for 50 years until moving to Kentucky in 2004.

My wife and I are enjoying raised bed organic vegetable gardening.  Actually I was raising food and animals organically long before it became the way to correctly do things.

Raise and show rabbits and just recently have added two Silkie Bantam hens to a backyard chicken tractor.  The 'girls' are so calming and the egg every other day is just an added bonus.

I am adding an observation Honey Bee Hive next spring and have been dubbed the "Local Discovery Channel Petting Zoo" .  Living in a tight sub-division makes animal husbandry critical so as not to aggravate the neighbors.  I have found however that by sharing the garden bounty educates and I am sure makes for a bit of toleration when the girls will cackle.
