Town and Country Feed 296-6711 (on Central east of Tramway) carries 50 lb sacks of diatomaceous earth (DE)that is "Food Chemical Codex Grade". From what I understand the Codex Grade refers to a set of quality standards established for international food & chemical consistency . Although many companies sell "Food Grade" DE I'm not aware of any requirements, testing or certification other than the Codex standard that reveals what you're your getting. As near as I can tell, other products may be better or worse but you don't know what you're getting unless it's marked Codex Grade.
I found it at the Mercantile in Corrales. They have it in just about every package size.
