One year anniversary of UrbanChickens.org!

Just over one year ago, the urbanchickens.org website was officially launched!   Here are some quick facts from year 1:

• We've had over 63,000 hits on our homepage
• We have over 700 members with profiles, and many more guests who have used our site this year
• The forum is growing steadily, with new information and tips daily
• We've provided information to a few cities which helped them in forming pro-chicken ordinances

So what's next for urbanchickens.org? Well, I am counting down the weeks (3) until graduate school is over, and I will soon take on a variety of projects for the site including:

• New pictures to give the site an improved look and feel
• Upgrades to our blog and user profiles
• Tons of new content including informational videos
• and more blog articles more often

I'd like to thank all of our members and supporters for your feedback and participation.  This site is all about community- let's keep it growing!

I'd also like to thank my husband Mark for all of his hard work in maintaining the site.  I could not have done it without him.

Lastly, I'd like to thank our chickens: Gloria, Switters, Buffy, and Omelet (who now lives at a friends place due to crowing) and our 4 new chicks (which we have yet to name).  In celebration they shall receive a special treat!
