Mad City Chickens Film Premiere
Urban chicken keepers are finally getting some movie coverage!
This Thursday evening at the Wisconsin Film Festival, Tarazod Films is premiering Mad City Chickens, a film about the growing interest in keeping backyard chickens.
The film is all about the urban chicken movement and contains interviews with lots of interesting people, such as Cheryl Long, the editor of Mother Earth News Magazine. Some people featured in the film are members of Mad City Chickens, formally The Poultry Underground. Mad City Chickens is the group that lobbied for pro chicken ordinances in Madison Wisconsin. They prove it can be done and provide an excellent model for the rest of us.
Over at The Daily Page there's a good interview with the makers of the film, who've kept backyard chickens before, and who cite keeping chickens as the main reason they made the movie.
This film looks like an absolute treat, and while tickets for the premiere are sold out, the DVD will hopefully be available for purchase soon. Go check out the Mad City Chicken Film site to learn more.
Make sure you watch the trailer because it's awesome!
