Albuquerque - anyone want to order chicks with me?

Hi - I am new to the site also. No chicks yet, but my family had various poultry when I was a kid. I'm just wondering if anyone wants to order from McMurray Hatchery with me? If we get a few people together we can have an order large enough to go...they have a HUGE selection! I plan to order chickens, ducks, and turkeys...(Minimum order for each is 25 chickens, 10 ducks and 15 turkeys). At risk of being obnoxious I'm going to post this under a couple of different topics.

I might be interested ... when do you plan to order them and what kind do you plan to order? I don't have a coop made yet so not sure of the time frame. Debbie
Handle every stressful situation like a dog ... if you can't eat it or play with it,
just pee on it and walk away!!
I'm actually kind of rural too! Hmm...I'd like to order within a month. I need to throw a coop together, too, and my boyfriend and I have to finish our current backyard project first! I just wanted to see if anyone would be interested so that I would know if I should forget the idea or not. There are other places to get chickens but I don't think they have the great selection and prices that McMurray has.
I want to order some meat birds ("Jumbo cornish x rock" look really good and big enough to be worthwhile!) and some egg birds (haven't decided on the breed yet - there are so many!) but I think we can mix and match the breeds as long as we order 25 chickens total.
I think that I want about 4 or 5 chickens to start with so I'd need a few more people to make a good order. I'm also willing to order a few extra if it allows us to meet the minimum order requirement. I've been reading about duck eggs and they seem to be better than chicken eggs nutritionally, with the added bonus of a longer shelf life and being less sulfury. Besides, ducks are really cute and they don't crow in the morning! One breed in particular is supposed to be quite productive (Khaki Campbell) - see this link for more info - the customer comments on the bottom claim that they lay more eggs than can be used!

I'm kind of realizing that it will be hard to find people who want to order turkeys - they're a little large to be urban birds!!
Let me know how many birds you were thinking about so I can keep a running tally to determine whether we have enough interest to meet the minimum order - thanks!
Have you ordered yet? I was going to post the same question (only want 4 chicks...various kinds...don't know what to do).
HI, I've had my flock since last May. Total 6 girls and one little Japanese bantam rooster. I'm looking to add one or two more hens. Looking for anyone with Silkie chicks or pullets. Black or White. White preferred. Let me know. Thanks. 505-828-9000 w).
